“For the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day, Margaret and I thought it was time to really step up and do something special,” says Steve McLain, co-owner and marketing face of Bakehouse. “Baking is our way of giving back to the world, so that’s how we’re pitching in.”

Margaret Begg, the driving force of the Bakehouse duo that has her hands in the ovens every day says, “We think it our responsibility to give back to the local community and to the world at large in our own special way. Brukner Nature Center is dedicated to preserving our local environment and needs public support. By buying Earth Day Cookies, people, companies and organizations can give back to the greater good in a tangible way, and support a well-deserved local treasure in the process.”

Brukner Nature Center is a privately-funded non-profit nature preserve dedicated to environmental education and wildlife rehabilitation. The Earth Day Cookies will be sold at the Bakehouse Bread & Cookie Company and Brukner Nature Center throughout the months of April and May. Earth Day Cookies are also available by the box for corporate meetings and events or for church and organizational functions by calling the Bakehouse Bread & Cookie Company at (937) 339-8100.
